PCSentry is an App designed to cover the current functionality of Gatekeeper, however it operates on a Tablet/Phone using an Android operating system. A suitable tablet would be the “Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 10″ ” or similar Lenovo A10 device. PCSchool recommends using the Brother QL-820 NWB printer as this has been tested and is known to be compatible with the software.
The PCSentry offers your school the ability to:
- Allow students to sign in/out of the school (late arrival/early departure), as well as to monitor students using facilities like the gymnasium which may not require a reason to be selected.
- Monitors visitors arriving and departing from the school. Visitors are prompted with questions created by the school prior entry.
- Allow staff to sign in/out of the school to allow other staff to know who is on premise.
As part of a premium option, PCSchool will be catering for out of school hours care. This will allow schools to monitor which students have been dropped off by whom, as well as who picked them up.
The benefit of the App includes its portability and the initial cost of hardware. It can be used by staff to record that they are leaving the school grounds or even contractors working within the school. It is fully integrated into the PCSchool School Management Software package but it may be used as a stand-alone app if you currently do not use PCSchool.
