Introduction
The PAT & e-asTTle Live Data Controls enable data to be imported quickly and cleanly. Please note
that they do use the same subject number – 999992 but different types of Area of Assessment.
PAT
Prior to importation you will need to have assigned the PAT Subject (number 999992) to all students and then allocate the PAT Areas of Assessment.

99999912 Vocabulary
99999913 Listening
99999914 Punctuation and Grammar
99999915 Mathematics
There is no need to create these as they should already be in your Areas of Assessment file under
Type Academic (A).
Import Results
Access the Live Data Control via Spider > Assessment > Live Assessment Reporting.
This will take you to the 'Assessment Analysis' page where you can then select 'Import Results' in the 'PAT' section.
Select CSV File
- Select the CSV file you wish to import from.
- Select the Subject Period you wish to save the results too.
- Select the 'Term' required (Term 1 or 4)
- Click on [Next].
Select Fields
- Select [Student ID].
- Select the field that holds the Student ID number (usually sms_id).
- Select the field that holds the Raw Score.
- Select the field that holds the Scale Score.
- Select the column that holds the Stanine.
- Click on 'Next'
N.B. Raw score, scale score and stanine may default correctly once you have selected the field with the Student ID number. This will depend on the file you are using.
Save Results
The data will appear on your 'Save Results tab. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on 'Save Results'.
N.B. this will bring in all the results in one go. You will not have to bring tests in singly as long as you have the correct file.
Your Data will appear in the Grade, Result and Result2 fields as below
Term 4
Follow the same process as above to import your Term 4 Results but select 'Term 4' from the drop down menu instead of Term 1.
The results will save to Result3, Result4 and Result 5 fields.
Analysis - Overall Report
Under 'PAT' select 'Overall Report'.
This will take you to the 'Search and Filter' page.
- Choose your Year Level
- Choose the Year
- Click on 'Search'.
Once you have searched your selection the following screen will show up.
- Cycle through the different tests eg: Listening, Reading etc.
- Radio boxes for different demographics.
- Box and Whisker Graphs
- Student names. You can click on a student and see where they sit in relation to the cohort.
Analysis - Summary of a Student
- Select a Student
- Select a Test
- The green dot shows where the student sits in relation to the cohort for each year you have data for.
e-asTTle
Prior to importation you will need to have assigned the Subject (number 999992) and
allocated the e-asTTle Areas of Assessment

99999917 Writing
99999918 Mathematics
There is no need to create these as they should already be in your Areas of Assessment file under
Type Audit Academic (J).
Import Results
Access the Live Data Control via Spider > Assessment > Assessments
Select your CSV file and then do the following steps. easTTle differs from PAT in that each test is
imported separately.
1. Select your CSV file
2. Select the Subject Period
3. Select the Term
4. Select Area of Assessment
5. Click on ‘Next’.
You will now be on the ‘Select Fields’ tab.
1. Select ‘student id’
2. Select the column where the ‘student id’ is. The other fields will have already defaulted
3. Click on ‘Next’.
You will now have been taken to the ‘Save Results’ tab where you will see the data it has imported in.
Scroll to the bottom and click on ‘Save Results'.
Analysis - Overall Report
Under 'e-asTTle' select 'Overall Report'.
This will take you to the 'Search and Filter' page.
1. Choose your Year Level
2. Choose your Year etc
3. Click on ‘Search’.
1. Use arrows to select a different test
2. Radio buttons for breaking down your data
3. These buttons are clickable. You can click on them to add or exclude data. This will make things a little more readable.
4. You can click on a student name and labels will come up on the graph. Hover over these to quickly see the students results in relation to other students. You can see an example of this in the screenshot in the next section.
