You can now import from a .csv file assets. Example - if you have purchased 30 computers you can now enter them in a spreadsheet and import direct in to your asset register.
Step 1: Backup your Asset files before you start
Step 2: Create your csv file see example:
Step 3: Open Asset Register > Asset Import in Spider 
1. | [Select Asset File] select the file you wish to import |
2. | [Field Mapping] make sure all fields select - if name matches from heading they will auto match - other select from drop down and match fields |
3. | [Show Assets] select this button |
4. | [Select below assets and update the Ledger Code and other details] this tells you what to do |
5. | Select the first asset e.g. Lenovo (notice it is blue) |
Step 4: Allocate the Ledger code
1. | [Category] - select the Asset Ledger Code you wish to assign the imported item/s too |
2. | [Type] - select from the drop down if required |
3. | [Department] - select from the drop down if required |
4. | [Supplier] - select from the drop down if required |
5. | [Location] - select from the drop down if required |
6. | [UPDATE] |
[OK] will update all items with this ledger code
[Cancel] will only update the selected item with this ledger code
e.g. when selecting OK - and it will up date all the assets in the file
To change an individual assets set the Asset Description and change the item
Once correct you [Save Assets]
If you go to [Assets Register] - call the Category up and you assets will have been imported
