For the 2020 App extra security has been add in the form of a PIN. This will be for Staff and will be required whenever a staff member goes to a page that has a student search.
- Anyone who is a staff member will be able to create a PIN when they login
- This PIN is required whenever they go to a page that has a student search ability
- This is not configurable
- Should they forget the PIN they will have to contact the school to have the PIN reset
The text for the PIN can be changed via App Customisation.
Staff Member View
When a staff member logs into the App they will get the option to manage the PIN
Clicking on this will enable them to change an existing PIN or, if they don't have a PIN it will allow them to create a PIN. The example below is the screen they would see if they have an existing PIN they wish to change.
When in the App and accessing a page that has student information the staff member will be asked to provide their PIN and then verify their PIN.
If a staff member should forget their PIN, they will have to contact the school to have it reset.
To Reset PIN
1. Go to 'Registered Devices'
1. Select the staff member
2. Click on 'Reset PIN'
This is another option that should be used in the event of a student leaving the school and the caregiver no longer being active.
Remove Unregistered Devices
From time to time you will want to utilise this function. A typical scenario is with caregivers installing and uninstalling the app. This will result in an error and to clear this you will select 'Remove Unregistered Devices' from the App Administration page.
